A new wastewater management method utilizing biological response: 'WET Test'

Using three types of organisms: fish, crustaceans, and algae! Confirming and evaluating whether the organisms can reproduce normally.

The "WET test" is a method of wastewater management that comprehensively assesses and evaluates the impact and toxicity of various chemical substances on the aquatic environment using living organisms, in order to reduce their effects on water environments. It has already been implemented in Western countries such as the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Sweden, and South Korea. In Japan, some businesses have begun to adopt it as a voluntary initiative and have announced it through their CSR reports. 【Features】 - A method to confirm and evaluate whether organisms can reproduce normally in wastewater. - Three types of organisms are used: fish (zebrafish), crustaceans (Daphnia magna), and algae (Cladophora). *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Drainage management test using the WET method

We will handle drainage management tests using the WET method.

The WET (Whole Effluent Toxicity) method is an abbreviation for "water environment management techniques using biological responses," which refers to a method of comprehensively managing wastewater by utilizing living organisms (bioassays). It is a method for assessing the toxicity of wastewater that originated in the United States and is becoming a global standard in countries such as Canada and South Korea. In Japan, discussions on the introduction and legal framework of this method are currently being advanced by the Ministry of the Environment. Specifically, it involves cultivating organisms 1 to 3 in wastewater and confirming safety by ensuring that there are no abnormalities such as the following: 1. "Algae (such as Cladophora)" ... checking for growth inhibition 2. "Zooplankton (such as water fleas)" ... checking for reproductive abnormalities, malformations, etc. 3. "Fish (such as medaka and zebrafish)" ... checking for acute toxicity (survival rate)
